SupportTeam Report post Posted 09/22/2005 10:41 PM The number of rings will depend on how quickly the answering machine answers the incoming call. If the answering machine owner has set the answering machine to answer the call immediately when the first ring starts then the answering machine may be able to answer the call so quickly that the phone hardly rings at all. In practice the answering machine will always have some delay before answering the call, so the phone will begin to ring when the call arrives, with the ring stopping partway through when the call is answered. And of course if the answering machine owner has set the answering machine to let the phone ring a number of times before answering the call then that's what will happen...
